Here is a nice performance

Bill Fulton ..Piano
Bob Summers has the word "BEBOP" on his license plate, and in his
soul too, I might add. He is simply one of the premier Trumpet players
in the business of jazz. High notes, low notes and everything in between.
His soaring solos are incredible, his ideas brilliant. His solilioquy
on There'll Be Some Changes Made" was as hot as a two dollar pistol.
Karolyn Kafer with the big sound and rollicking style, had the
audience spellbound. With the face of an angel and a manner of playing
that is just what it ought to be, a study in swinging. Every note
and phrase was pure excitement. Gene Lees is correct when he praises
her as one of the best. Kafer is a Tenor player of immense talent.
Bill Fulton is one of the elite Pianists in the L.A. area, and tonight
was no exception as he romped and alternately sweet talked that keyboard
into submission. Speed, dexterity and touch are Fulton's fortŽ, and
it all shone through on this engagement. Larry Jones on Trombone poured
his patented style into the mix and it added still another dimension
to an already fine group. Great tunes, great performers , great crowd,
great venue, Who could ask for anything more?
